Phimosis-Paraphimosis

Phimosis is a condition in which the foreskin of a male does not retract. It is still unclear what causes the condition, but for most men, it resolves without any treatment and without consequence. Phimosis is relatively common in newborns and young children but usually goes away on its own as they age. In some cases, phimosis may persist into adulthood.

Ayurvedic treatment for phimosis involves massaging herbal oil into the tip of the penis, or foreskin and herbal medication.

If you have phimosis, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

Difficulty urinating
A sense of incomplete emptying of the bladder
A stream that starts and stops while urinating
Splashback of urine onto the surrounding skin
Painful urination
Urinary retention (inability to completely empty the bladder)
Inability to engage in sexual intercourse
Inflammation of the foreskin (balanitis)
Infection of the urinary tract (UTI)

Paraphimosis is a condition which occurs when the foreskin of the penis cannot be pulled back over the head of the penis. It hangs forward on the shaft of the erect penis, preventing retraction and exposing the sensitive glans to air. This can lead to skin tightness and swelling, which may hinder blood flow to the penis and cause complications such as an infection or permanent damage due to prolonged exposure. Paraphimosis can be a painful condition and can lead to serious complications if left untreated.

Types:

Primary paraphimosis: Primary paraphimosis is when the foreskin becomes stuck behind the head of the penis and can’t be pulled back over it. This is usually because the foreskin has been pulled back and then not replaced properly.

Secondary paraphimosis: Secondary paraphimosis is when the foreskin can be pulled back over the head of the penis, but then becomes stuck again and can’t be replaced. Treatment of phimosis-paraphimosis in Ayurveda is done with the herbs, oil massages and some para surgical, non-invasive therapies to provide complete cure from this condition
